Tour Overview

Day 1

Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City

Greetings! Welcome to the bustling city of Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. Your exciting journey kicks off with a welcome meeting scheduled for 6 pm today. As this itinerary doesn't allocate much time for exploration in Ho Chi Minh City, consider arriving a day or two in advance to fully immerse yourself in the local attractions. Ho Chi Minh City exudes a vibrant atmosphere with a touch of French influence. Explore Pham Ngu Lao Street to witness the lively open-air market, pay a visit to Vinh Nghiem Pagoda, or enjoy the thrills of one of the amusement parks. Following the welcome meeting, you have the option to join your group for an optional meal at one of the city's delightful dining establishments. Accommodation: Hotel
Day 2

Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City

On the inaugural day of your journey, you will explore one of the pivotal landmarks in Ho Chi Minh City—the renowned Cu Chi Tunnels. These intricate tunnels served as a crucial asset for the Viet Cong during the protracted conflict against the Americans, playing a pivotal role in the Vietnamese triumph. Witness the remarkable ingenuity behind these perilous passageways. Later in the day, embark on a city tour that includes notable sites such as the Reunification Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, and the Opera House. A visit to the War Remnants Museum will provide a thought-provoking and enlightening insight into the Vietnam War, showcasing artifacts such as vintage military equipment, an F5A fighter, and a UH1-Huey helicopter. Accommodation: Hotel
Day 3

Day 3: Mekong Delta Homestay

Embark on a journey southward aboard a private minibus, covering approximately three hours to reach Cai Be. Upon arrival, you will board a boat to navigate the intricate waterways of the Mekong Delta, often hailed as 'the rice bowl' of Vietnam. This fertile delta serves as the primary region for cultivating rice, tropical fruits, and flowers that contribute to the nation's agricultural abundance. Disembark from the boat to explore an orchard and savor the flavors of tropical fruits. The cruise will then take you to visit local cottage industries, providing an intimate glimpse into the daily life and trades along the river. As the sun sets, you'll meander along one of the numerous canals to reach your homestay, where a delightful meal featuring local specialties awaits. While the accommodation for the night may be modest, the overall experience promises to be enriching. Accommodation: Homestay
Day 4

Day 4: Ho Chi Minh City

Return to Ho Chi Minh City, a journey lasting approximately three hours, and take advantage of some leisure time for sightseeing. We suggest indulging in the city's diverse culinary scene, exploring its restaurants, and sampling the distinctive flavors that define Ho Chi Minh City's cuisine. In stark contrast to the northern regions of Vietnam, the local gastronomy here tends to be spicier, sweeter, and more diverse. If you're feeling adventurous, the city is dotted with numerous street food stalls offering a chance to savor bites of the authentic local fare. Accommodation: Hotel
Day 5

Day 5: Dalat

Following your exploration of Ho Chi Minh City, embark on a bus transfer to Dalat. Characterized by a temperate and cool climate in comparison to the rest of the country, Dalat has earned the moniker "City of Eternal Spring" due to the perpetual mists enveloping its nearby valleys throughout the year. This enchanting epithet extends to the city's remarkable architecture, exemplified by the Hang Na guesthouse—an expressionist masterpiece that looms like a molten stone obelisk over the verdant garden below. The area is adorned with charming structures and gardens influenced by Art Deco. Consider strolling through the streets to immerse yourself in the city's ambiance or seek out a café to enjoy a cup of artichoke tea, a local specialty. Accommodation: Hotel
Day 6

Day 6: Dalat

Dalat's refreshing climate not only offers a welcome respite from the coastal heat of Vietnam but also provides an ideal setting for cultivating an extensive array of fruits, vegetables, and herbs. Dedicate an entire day to meandering through the serene gardens of this city, weaving through plantations adorned with robust vegetables, vibrant flowers, medicinal herbs, fragrant lavender, and succulent strawberries. Accommodation: Hotel
Day 7

Day 7: Phan Rang

Begin your day by journeying to the coastal town of Phan Rang via minibus, a trip that takes approximately 3 hours. Explore the nearby Po Klong Garai Cham Towers, an archaeological site dating back to the Middle Ages dedicated to the indigenous goddess. Delve into ancient traditions with a visit to Bau Truc, the oldest pottery village in Southeast Asia. The remainder of the day is yours to enjoy at your leisure. Feel free to consult your guide for restaurant suggestions to savor the outstanding local seafood. Accommodation: Hotel
Day 8

Day 8: Phan Rang / Overnight train

Embark on a day excursion to Vinh Hy Bay, an idyllic crescent-shaped harbor nestled between Phan Rang and Nha Trang. En route, pause at the Bau Nai fish market to witness the lively activity of fish being unloaded and locals briskly seeking the best deals. Proceed to a salt field, where the expansive salt fields of central Vietnam unfold in a breathtaking display of natural beauty. Observe workers raking and harvesting salt that has crystallized from the saline waters of Vietnam's coast, channeled inland into shallow fields. Visit another marvel of natural beauty, the moss-covered rock formations, and fossilized coral reefs of Hang Rai. Finally, reach Vinh Hy Bay, where ample time awaits for swimming and snorkeling in its warm, coral-rich waters. As evening falls, board an overnight train bound for Da Nang. While conditions on these trains may be basic, and hygiene standards could differ from what you are accustomed to at home, the overnight journey offers a unique opportunity to mingle with locals and optimize your time. Most trains feature a dining carriage serving straightforward meals, but we recommend stocking up on snacks before boarding. Accommodation: Overnight sleeper train
Day 9

Day 9: Hoi An

Commence your day with an early arrival and a bus transfer from Danang to Hoi An. Recently designated as a World Heritage site, Hoi An served as a prominent trading port with the West from the 15th to the 19th century. Today, meticulous restoration efforts have recreated its appearance precisely as it stood over a century ago, imparting an antiquated ambiance with myriad corners and alleyways waiting to be explored. The afternoon offers leisure time, and Hoi An stands as a veritable shopping paradise. Why not peruse the locally crafted paintings, woodwork, ceramics, and embroidery? The city is renowned for its skilled tailors, adept at working with exquisite fabrics at reasonable prices. Accommodation: Hotel
Day 10

Day 10: Hoi An

Indulge in another day of leisure in the charming town of Hoi An. Take the opportunity to admire the exquisite Chinese shophouses, immerse yourself in the vibrant local market, explore Cua Dai Beach, embark on a cycling adventure through the rice fields, or peruse the diverse array of art galleries. Accommodation: Hotel
Day 11

Day 11: Hue

Leave Hoi An and venture to the pristine My Khe Beach, where white sands meet azure waters. Continue your journey by traversing the breathtaking Hai Van Pass, making a brief stop at the picturesque fishing village of Lang Co. Rejoin the minibus and proceed to Hue, with a total travel time of approximately five hours. Upon arrival in Hue, the former imperial capital of Vietnam, you'll encounter a city adorned with the treasures of the country's royal history—a unique blend of lively streets and serene surroundings. Your exploration here will focus on the Imperial Citadel, a fortress encompassing the Imperial City and the Forbidden Purple City within its walls. Ravaged during the Vietnam War, the remnants and craters left by bombs serve as poignant reminders of the conflict's destructive impact. During your free time, consider a visit to Dong Ba Market, a bustling hub offering locally crafted goods, fresh produce, and tempting street food. It's an excellent opportunity to sample specialties once enjoyed by Emperor Nguyen, such as the banh khoai royal rice cake. Accommodation: Hotel
Day 12

Day 12: Hue

Embark on today's journey on the back of a motorbike, accompanied by your designated driver. Your exploration begins with a scenic ride around the Imperial Citadel, followed by a visit to the Thien Mu Pagoda—an emblematic symbol of Hue with origins dating back to 1601, still functioning as an active Buddhist monastery. Here, you'll encounter the car left behind by a monk who self-immolated in protest against the mistreatment of Buddhists by the South Vietnamese regime. Break up your sightseeing with a tranquil dragon boat cruise on the Perfume River, then resume your motorbike adventure to a unique lunch destination at a convent, where a delectable vegetarian feast awaits. Post-lunch, ride to the royal tomb of Emperor Tu Duc, situated amidst a scenic landscape of lakes, frangipani bushes, and pine trees. The evening grants you the freedom to savor more local specialties. Accommodation: Hotel
Day 13

Day 13: Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park

This morning, board a minibus en route to the Vinh Moc Tunnels, which served as shelters during the Vietnam War for villagers seeking refuge from intense bombing. Inhabitants lived in an underground system spanning three levels, and you'll have the opportunity to explore the original tunnels. In the afternoon, proceed to a charming village located just outside the Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park. Our accommodation here is nestled on a farm, with rooms situated in bungalows scattered across the property. Established as a 'farmstay' to contribute to the local town's economic growth through tourism, it has also embraced recycling and waste management initiatives. Accommodation: Hotel

Day 17: Hanoi

In the morning, seize the opportunity to immerse yourself further in the Vietnamese highlands with a 10-kilometer trek from Sung Village to Da Bia. The initial 8 kilometers of the trek traverse mostly flat terrain along well-trodden buffalo tracks. The remaining 2 kilometers feature a gradual incline, with a section of approximately 300 meters incorporating some steps; nevertheless, the walk maintains a steady and relaxed pace. Along the hike, which passes through local villages and offers encounters with people from the Muong ethnic tribe, keep an eye out for the monumental stone atop Da Bia Mountain.
